Welcome from the Governing Body

On behalf of the Longlevens Primary Federation Governing Body, welcome to Longlevens Infant and Junior Schools, we are thrilled you have chosen Longlevens Primary Federation for your child.

We work to ensure that our schools are successful and happy places, where everyone is an active learner and feels safe. The atmosphere is positive, encouraging and stimulating; we balance academic focus with broader social, physical and creative activity.

The Governing Body

The three core strategic functions of the Governing Body are:

  • To ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction, to set out the vision for the school and its broad ambitions.
  • To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school, its pupils and staff.
  • To oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is well spent.

The composition of the Governing Body is defined by our Instrument of Governance, issued by Gloucestershire County Council and is comprised of 12 Governors:

  • 2 parent governors elected by and from the parents of children at either school
  • 1 Local Authority governor jointly appointed by the Governing Body and Gloucestershire County Council
  • 1 staff governor elected by the staff across both schools
  • The Executive Headteacher
  • 7 co-opted governors appointed by the Governing Body based on their skills and experience.

If you would like to get in touch with the governors at any time, please do so through school reception, via the clerk, at clerk@lpf.school or contact me directly at chair@lpf.school .
